Juicing Watermelon Seeds

Question: Can you juice watermelon seeds?

Yes, you can juice watermelon seeds. In fact, not only can you juice the seeds, they can be roasted and eaten just like sunflower and pumpkin seeds.

Watermelon seeds provide an excellent source of important nutrients like magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc and iron. The seeds also contain several amino acids,  including, arginine, aspartic acid and serine.

When you juice a watermelon seed, you squeeze the maximum amount of nutrients from it.  So next time, consider skipping the seedless type for the more nutritional seeded variety.

Oh, and the myth that watermelon seeds will grow in your stomach is positively false. Though eating large quantities of seeds has been implicated in cases of  fecal impaction. To get the  nutritional benefit from them, seeds must be thoroughly chewed, or better yet, juiced!
